This SAY Si project wanted us to focus ourselves while using it to make a statement on the world today.

My painting consists of acrylic paint on a gessoed canvas, structured by brush strokes and finger smudging. I chose to make references to how lazy some of us young people can be, both productively and intellectually. I've heard consistently that our generation has been one of the least skilled, least innovative, and perhaps narcissistic kids of all time. While this of course is a predictable criticism that each older generation would give, I still believe that it is important for people to carry traits that require effort such as cooking, maintaining the quality of property, and putting in the time to learn. While it may not be the greatest issue we have, I still believe that it is important for us to carry responsibilities and productive values, rather than depend on technology.
