Return To the Countryside

After leading fast paced lives and exhaustive lifestyle for ages, humans are realising the significance of intangible things in life. Nature being the most important one. People are returning to the picturesque countryside to unwind, get closer to nature or even relive their childhood memories.

UNWIND | SERENE | NOSTALGIA | WARMTH
A countryside landscape looks like a patchwork of rectangular farms, in infinite shades of greens and browns. They appear to be arranged in a grid that is organically laid out. Trees resemble textured bushes that surround the sides of the grid.

The idea was built upon, from paper artworks to finally translating into woven fabrics. To achieve this effect in fabric, double cloth weaving construction is used to get a woven grid of multiple colours. For the textured edges, loop piles of wool are woven along the sides, which are later agitated with water and soap. This makes the wool fibres shrink to form felt.

Variations in design are created by using different colours, textured yarns, grid structures.
Along with the thick woolen fabrics, apt for coats, blazers and pants, the collection also consists of coordinated stripes, textures and patterned fabrics for other garments like pullovers, throws, shirts, skirts and dresses.

Along with the deep, earthy colour palette of the inspiration board, the brand colours of Tommy Hilfiger, red and blue, have also been played around with.
