Designed by a team of young entrepreneurs and designers, Model ZERO has been conceived as an elite product through its design, technology, and exclusive features. Its name “ZERO” was born from the concept that it requires no maintenance, making it the ideal bike for the urban lifestyle.
Designed with a large costumer base in mind, from teenagers through adults, the bicycle distinguishes itself due to its innovative characteristics.
Carbon fiber, the majority of the bicycle is manufactured out of carbon fiber, an aerospace material ten times lighter than steel while retaining the strength equal to steel. It is manufactured as an ultralight weight bike and within the category “long lasting”, with an approximate weight of 7,5kg, making it easier to transport and store. This makes it ideal for using with public transportation or easily fitting in a vehicle’s trunk, while maintaining the agility of a modern bicycle.
Tires, equipped with tires made of a new material that does not contain air, these tires emulate the experience of a standard tire, but they do not pop or require pumping, reinforcing the idea of zero maintenance.
Belt, utilizes the transmission system “Gates Carbon Drive”, a serrated belt which is reinforced with carbon fiber. The belt does not require oiling or any maintenance whatsoever (since it is not a chain). It does not create stains or attaches to clothing, and is completely silent and reliable.
VCU (VIKA Central Unit), The heart of the bicycle. It houses the GPS, Bluetooth, the battery, accelerometer, and various sensors.
Autonomous charging system, a system that charges itself and feeds the VCU. It charges as you ride your VIKA without diminishing its riding performance.
The lighting system turns on as the user enters its Bluetooth radius and turns off automatically as one walks away from it. Its sensor is also the perfect compliment to foggy days or traveling through tunnels or sudden dark paths as it turns on automatically.
The Model ZERO includes integrated LED lighting in both the front and rear. When you press the breaks on your VIKA, the accelerometer ignites the rear break light with greater intensity. The front lights utilize special optics that light up the path.
Internal cabling, the entire cabling system- brakes, transmission, and electronics- travel exclusively inside the frame preserving maximum aesthetic of design and ultimate conservation of the cables.
Foldability, a completely new system of folding that is simple, quick, and easy to maneuver. The purity of the lines in the frame are achieved thanks to a one-of-a-kind system of hidden hinges developed by VIKA. It consists of electrical contacts capable of replacing cables to transport energy, this enabling the folding to be efficient and easy.
