NO LONGER HUMAN: BOOK COVER PROJECT
This project is a school project from typo+communication class. The purpose of this assignment is to redesign a book cover every week. Students had the freedom to select their book, typefaces, and visual. I selected the book called "NO LONGER HUMAN" that was written by a famous Japanese writer, Samu Dazai. This book is one of the most depressing stories that I had ever read. It is a story of a man who feels a shame of himself that he tried to commit suicide for three times and at the end, he was able to accomplish his desire with his lover. In the series of my design, I incorporated visuals that reflect the feeling of depression and irony because I want to express the feeling of the main character who pretends that he can hold on and be strong even though he is dying from the inside out.
