For this project, I created a Music Video Teaser for Kaytranada's song "Got it Good".
The challenge was to showcase a woman’s journey through a post break-up scene in a music video trailer 17 seconds.
The motion techniques were inspired by the Netflix television show title sequence Narcos. I was captivated by the use of overlays, color variations, motion tracking and cinematography – all of which I applied to my final video.
The first scene starts with the glitch, the woman comes into scene as she stares out into space. I added the film grain and scratches to give an old school and cinematic look. The goal was for the viewer to relate with the situation, I added my own handwriting to the film to add a touch of intimacy and closeness to the viewers. The marks on the peoples face indicate the woman’s process of closure in the city and everything in her life that affected her. To create this feeling of awe, sound design was extremely important. This is where the music goes along with it as it is not too loud, flashy or upbeat. It starts off soft as the visuals resonated with it.
