Yukkal – Korean instant cup noodles

 ‘Yukkal’ is a fresh attempt at combining the old and the new. Yukgaejang, or traditional Korean hot beef stew, is combined with instant ramen noodles in three different flavors, culminating in the creation of an innovative brand that embodies the core of traditional Korean cuisine that also appeals to modern customers.

To visually conceptualize the idea of contrast and harmony between tradition and modernity, the package design was kept clear and simple, using face split and colors. The background color on the upper half of the lid was inspired by traditional Korean bowls while the color on the bottom half of the lid, different for each flavor, is taken from the five traditional Korean colors (called ‘obangsaek’ in Korean, they are five traditional colors that symbolize harmony). The logo is written in the traditional calligraphy style of Korea to portray the richness and depth of traditional Korean flavors. The package design contains a sizzle image to strongly appeal to the senses. The pattern on the lower half of the lid are designed in a straightforward and unique manner, reflecting the texture of the ingredients for each flavor.
