Statistics Canada and the City of Toronto are both places with a wealth of information. For example, Wellbeing Toronto website, a database of Toronto demographics, contains a wealth of information on the population ranging from crime to education to the environment.
The problem here is how the data is presented. The results are presented in spreadsheet format, which are difficult to compare and generally unappealing visually.
The challenge was to take Toronto demographic indicators (i.e. employment income, occupation classification, visible minority, and education level) of eight neighbourhoods picked based on their average household income and graph it to compare the data. The purpose of this piece was to show the difference in neighbourhood profile based on income disparity.
