Sophie Lost her Shadow - Experimental Book Project

"Sophie Lost her Shadow" is an experimental interactive book for children. It started from a series sketches in mix media that I was playing with at the time. I had so much fun working that I decided to turn them in a book, designed from scratch - fonts, binding, illustration and text.
The book is for small children, around 5-8 years old and is completely interactive. You have to draw in missing patterns and shadows, connect funny dog shadows, draw faces and play with overlapping CMYK coloured shapes. At the end you even get a pop-up!
Enjoy! :)
I designed the font for another illustrated book but I find it qute matching with the Sophie drawings.
Oh my, lots of things are missing! Draw them in to fill up the fridge!
Do you think the grumpy dog's shadow is good for him? Can you find the right one?
I also did the binding of the book, in coptic style - this way you can fully open the pages and draw easy on it. Also, I had to stitch the pages together because I needed the interior space for different interventions (like the CMYK shadows that need to rotate and are kept together with a button)
