Bedrooms take up the role of a private space in a home. The installation conforms to the idea while having the artist shift into a room in a different country and adjusting to it as one’s private space. With traces and left over things of previous residents within this room, the installation is a response to everything that is stripped off a private space, a sanctuary for the artist, as it opens up more to the boundaries of public rather than private. The visuals display a contradictory space trying to maintain its grandeur while having fungal growth of unwanted influences. The components of the installation represent the transient state of the artist responding to the traits of the New York City and that of the house and room’s previous residents through sculpture and text.
