SuperNova Scotia
A personal project for a fictional Sci-Fi film festival in Nova Scotia. This was created in Adobe Illustrator. I was inspired by the flat modern look of the 2012 video game "Journey". The colour scheme was chosen to really push the surreal otherworldly feeling of a dystopian future Halifax, featuring the Citadel Hill clocktower sinking into the desert. Please note: Supernova Scotia is not a real festival. This poster was designed as a personal project.
The idea was to produce illustrated marketing materials for a fictional Film Festival. Exploring a specific illustrative style, I developed a colour scheme designed to accommodate the surrealist tone.The goal was to represent the sci-fi theme of the film festival through the colour scheme and creative visual illustration (without the cliche spaceships, planets and space-related imagery), Instead, I chose to go for a more surreal dystopian theme.
