The program I designed this logo in is Photo Shop CC 20
The tools and techniques I used were:
19 Layers - Clipping mask on the 5 text elements with my original photos of the school’s campus scenes. Images were cropped, color enhanced, “Economics” has 3D effect bevel. All text has drop shadow applied after masking.The images were manipulated for the best fit with the text. The outlying pictures were cropped, color enhanced, resized and canvas expanded to get a white border. Background layer was color enhanced with a satin effect to reduce glare. The collage is designed for large format print because of the detailing.
The design elements and principles present are:
Type – Here type is used to introduce each story by breaking up the images into positive and negative Space images. The text gives the collage Unity telling individual stories that make up one main topic, the semester and relationship of the courses of study.
Color- The natural and earthy colors support the time of year which supports the message of the season “Fall”. Within the text are those themes and colors that tell my special personal relationship with each course of study.
Shape – Here the shape of the tree conveys a meaning, “the Tree of Knowledge” very common and recognizable shape that stands out from the background
Type – Can stand alone. It conveys order, formality and earthiness
Balance – Even though the distribution of the elements of the collage are not necessarily equal it was a challenge for me to assemble 10 pictures into a theme and make them work together. The balance may have ended up as informal and non-symmetrical. I think it tells the story and that’s the most important part of this collage.
Pattern – The patterns create the visual excitement and story inside of each line of text. Look for a moment and you may see what I see. A flow of natural elements in to a mechanical manmade structure is “Visual Design”. “Mobile Marketing” each element is built on the next and the time piece says planning and timeliness “Economics” pattern was taken from a cross walk, finely measured lines of reasoning and steadfastness. “Accounting” has so many intricate pieces that form a bridge that I’m just beginning to cross, as you see silhouette.
