Brand Identity

The New York Asian Film Foundation Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the exhibition and appreciation of Asian film culture in all its forms, with year-round festivals and programs, and a view to building bridges between Asia and America, featuring diverse and provocative heralding vibrant and exciting voices from China to Malaysia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Singapore, the Philippines, and beyond.

The final solution pays homage to the festival’s commitment to connecting the western world with Asian film at the same time opens up creative dialogues in the film community. The identity’s color scheme nods to the festival’s energetic and contemporary spirit. A typeface was created based on grids transformed from delicate patterns on traditional Chinese wood carved window to honor Asia’s long history and rich culture.  Lastly, A projection mapping based installation was presented alongside. The sculptural onsite experience includes viewer activated graphics and information within a spatially dynamic interface.
