Jeep Compass: CG and Retouch

Jeep has always gone the extra mile to do something out of the box. Their new campaign was both daunting and exciting. We were approached to show the Jeep Compass descending a winding road while giving a raw look to the layout. Even though our hands were tied with tight deadlines on this one, the team managed to pull it off brilliantly. The Jeep Compass, along with the road and the tinier vehicles in the background, were masterfully created in CG. The depth and the shadows were also worked on in CG to enhance the contours of the terrain and to make the road sit well in the landscape. The dirt path in the forefront, the terrain of the mountain, the clouds and the cityscape from where the winding road seems to originate, were all carefully crafted by stitching various patches of images together in retouch, adding a quality of photo realism to the layout.
