The Crane's Ritual

This personal project has mostly been inspired by my love of mythologies, fables, and cultural symbols. The idea for this particular piece came from several ideas that happened to build on each other by themselves...a lot like photographic transparencies. I simply connected them together: one was the ceremonial dances of the Native American tribes with their beaded costumes and haunting chants. The other, the mating rituals of the Crane bird...a formal affair...
What this piece "means" is entirely up to the viewer: it could be a fictional mythology, a visit to our future planet by a wandering creature from another world- stumbling upon a cultural wasteland? A dream? Your guess is as good as mine...
