Honour the Charge the Made

These two images are from a project I did during my degree year. They represent two different men who died during the Falklands war. One man proved himself to be a hero at the tender young age of 20. He was so respected that another soldier risked his own life to  retrieve his dead body. The other led his men into a blood ath and his recklessness got many men killed, as well as himself.
My mothers cousin, Steven Illingsworth, was passed over for the Victoria Cross in favour of Colonel 'H' Jones.
Some say it was a terrible decision, but I wanted to make a piece for my family that showed that, though these two men died for very different reasons, they have both been honoured by those left behind. and that a piece of metal does not a hero make.
Both these images were printed on a door-size piece of perspex that was suspended from the ceiling. When the light caught it, it was possible to see both images at once, seeing both sides of the same coin.
