Materialisation four focuses on the most interpretive reading of image descriptors against the most literal reading of form descriptors.
For this materialisation of my concept I have constructed a topographical layering of lace trimmings emulating from the petticoat extraction from Stein (1914). By layering the hyper-feminine example of fabric upon one another in variations of a similar shade, an ultimate production of tactility, furthermore, alluding to the common romantisation of the material in old world poetry.
The score of material when felt exemplifies a strong stimulation of a person’s touch senses as it feels soft and delicate when the eyes are closed and the finger tips are focused. As the material feels like a mountain range of lingerie, there is an unorthodox connection to a sensual experience as the fabrics feel forbidden and pubescent.
