Insightful + Explorative

Materialisation 3 was inspired by the diverse locations used in Lagerfield's Remember Now. Obviously it didn't go too a lot of places but, comparatively, to Quinoa, it felt like viewers got to see a lot more of the life and world the protagonists lived in. Venturing through parts of Tropez and meeting people a long the way was a intrinsic part of the story. Insightful derives from Lynch's unique ability to explain most matters in great depth, refusing to leave out anything, despite how unimportant they may be. 

The drawing is based on my previous house in the Northern Territory, where I lived on a Marina. I purposely left the the houses uncoloured in a way of representing Lynch's main  ideas carried in his film. the main medium was black and white, which I interpreted as him saying this film aspect isn't important. Instead I presumed that what he tried to make appealing was the life lessons - cooking Quinoa and his summer story. They seemed to have a lot of life and interesting aspects to them, at least more interesting than the film itself. His spoken words, the audio is then representative of Life and the trees and environment depicted in my drawing, whereas the main medium we would usually perceive as important (such as the houses) have been left uncoloured.
