Why Vertical Concept?
In each of my artworks, one or more vertical marks are dug or imprinted.
They, outside the canvas, come in and lift upward, others lie in the center of it, others cross it completely, always vertically and only in very rare cases these same signs have been horizontally engraved. Vertical Concept is my poem and my soul. I do not think I'll ever leave them. In each realisation there will always be one or more, sometimes many of them. Once the canvas is ready but devoid of any sign, comes the moment to a reflection. Where and where will I dig or draw my Vertical Concepts?
I listen to my instinct and I reflect. I let the tension away and I relax myself while I look at the empty surface. After not long, it clicks something in my intimate thinking and the sign takes up his place. It takes life on a precise point into the artwork. His world, the canvas, the table, the entire surface of the cardboard leaves it space end being. Vertically. In a society that runs increasingly fast-paced towards an increasingly unstable future that makes us all at the same time unstable and stressed, in search of certainties, here is a vertical stretch that it is set in front of my eyes as well as in front of yours. It becomes a symbol of instability that finally finds stability. A concrete sign of himself, a sign that brings us a strong message, strong because it is fixed and vertical in its absolute certainty of being unique and consistent.
