Celebrating Kurumayama

World Poster Exhibition on Ogaki Matsuri Festival commemorates the first anniversary of the registration as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.

227 fine designs were submitted from Japan and overseas for recruiting posters on the theme of the event of Kurumayama, the beauty of Ogaki Matsuri Festival, registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.

52 works were picked up primarily, including my poster :-)
Ogaki Matsuri Festival, inherited more than 360 years, and registered as a UNESCO Intangible Culture Heritage, has been newly reevaluated.
The posters designed with diverse cultural values and sharp sensibility have been printed by silkscreen method individually on the Genuine Mino Paper that also has been registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage in Gifu prefecture.
It is as if traditional musical accompaniment was heard from the colorful posters that have just been printed with delicate translucency.

Ok, let's make Fujio Hori's (Executive in Chief, Executive Committee of World Poster Exhibition of Ogaki Matsuri Festival)
dream real and call Ogaki, as the city of fantastic festival and poster art.
