My favorite period is undoubtedly autumn. The colors of the trees are incredible and those offered by bald cypresses are even more so.
At the end of October, beginning of November, they take on a magnificent reddish color that contrasts with the white of the lake. The mist is sometimes inviting and gives a particular atmosphere to this place, very popular for photographers.
It's not uncommon to meet a dozen photographers early in the morning, some of them being there for the birds, diving into the lake, others for the trees and staying quietly on the shore.
