THE AKOKOTAKRA CHALLENGE
01- Company Overview
Akokotakra (a mobile web technology for the poultry industry) handles both single and multiple farms at different locations to put the farm owner or manager in full control of his business and to maximize productivity.
02- Business Requirements
There are numerous software-as-a-service business which tries to create tools to better allow people do more in their businesses. Akokotakra aims to be different by being the ultimate Poultry Farmer best-friend. The aim of the challenge is to redesign their platform to essentially appeal to poultry farmers looking for tools to increase their productivity and allow them navigate through the service with ease.
I took on the challenge of redefining the USER EXPERIENCE (UX) of their website by generating fresh insights to improve their USER INTERFACE (UI).
I started by doing user testing of their platform (see Figure1 below) by allowing selected testers wear hats of Poultry Farmers looking for technology to improve their operations. I got deep insights and used it as a basis to redesign the interface.
User Persona [sample]:
He’s educated, well vast in poultry farm operations.
Looking for an agric software service that allows me get more productive in my farm’s day-to-day operations.
What User A Expects (his deep thoughts) USER FLOW:
So when farmer A starts searching online for poultry farm software services, he wants to at a glance of the company’s website see what the company is about, what they do, their packages, a compelling reason why he needs to choose your service, why should he stop at their platform rather than keep surfing the internet for other more services, is the website saying a lot of the problems am facing, can i just feel like I have seen a platform that sees through me?
