THE BRIEF:
To design an chimera - a combination of multiple animals and plants to create a fantasy creature - to serve as an emblem for a local restaurant.

THE SOLUTION:
The emblem is for The Kitchen in Woodstock - a quirky, casual, cosy, authentic, very Capetonian, friendly and homely restaurant and takeaway. The emblem combines a buffalo and two flamingos to create a whimsical, quirky creature. It makes use of indigenous species to communicate that The Kitchen is proudly South African. The bright colours, especially the use of pink, communicate the personality of The Kitchen. This is further emphasised by the addition of a half-wreath made from proteas and red-disa flowers.
