Wireless Fold-in Illustration

A fold in illustration created for a fourth year university assignment.

The brief was industry-linked, focusing on producing a fold-in illustration on a topical issue for Radio New Zealand's online platform The Wireless.

The article this piece was based on was:
What Gareth Morgan and Trump have in common:

In this piece I took stylistic inspiration from satirical artists such as James Gillray, George Cruickshank, and Thomas Rowlandson, who all use a cross hatching style and exaggerate facial features and the body as a whole to poke fun at critique the people in their works.

The fold out section of the image is full of imagery and items associated with Gareth Morgan and his life, however at the forefront is his hatred of cats which most people now associate with him.

This piece was chosen to be featured on The Wireless.
