Every autumn's highlight is the return of the cranes from the northern areas to special locations in Germany where they rest on their way further south of Europe.

The flooded areas of the moor provide them some shelter against their predators during night time. Therefore every evening around sun set you can watch them returning from their daily foraging. 

Although you might have watched the evening approach many times in your life - every evening is different and when you firstly hear them coming and finally see them approaching from large flocks down to single families you might get goose bumps...
