2017 was a big year for Stewart-Haas Racing, for they switched to Ford-powered cars for the Monster Energy NASCAR series. The team had been running Chevrolet-powered cars since 2004, so the switch made some waves in the NASCAR world.

Piloting the team of four Mobil 1 racecars are (#4) Kevin Harvick, (#10) Danica Patrick, (#14) Clint Bowyer, and (#41) Kurt Busch… All decorated veterans of the sport, so you can say I was pretty excited to get behind the wheel…um, camera for this shoot. Did I mention team owner Tony Stewart? Yup, him too!

The task was to basically take as many similar angles of all the drivers and cars, and combine them in post however we please. The cars and drivers were shot separately for logistical reasons, but I’m no stranger to combining images in post. Of course we rocked some shots with more creative freedom when time permitted. The first image below is a monster, where every car and driver are from a single Sony A7RII 42 megapixel image… now vastly resized to fit my tiny blog dimensions.
