Patterns of Inheritance director Benjamin Bernstein asked me to design a set that felt like being trapped inside of the Internet with a headache. With a libretto composed entirely of chopped up blog posts and Wikipedia articles, the modern opera demanded a set as strange and as elegant as the work it framed. The opera attempts to paint a picture of the Internet age, and all the information we process, distribute, mutilate and inherit.
