The story that this photo tells is of a dancer elegantly leaping into the air, then coming to the ground as light as a feather. I like way my hair is flowing in the photo because it adds motion and makes it more interesting. There isn't anything I dislike about this photo because I am very happy with this result after the many shots, and bursts of energy, that it took to capture this moment. The problems I encountered while taking this photo is timing my leap with when the camera took the photo so that I captured my complete split. I overcame this problem by setting my camera to take multiple photos in a row, then doing a bunch of leaps one after another.
This photo's story is of a car chase and how the cars are racing down the street so fast that they become a streak of light. What I like about this photo is the red light trails above and below the wide white light trail because it adds depth and brings the viewer into the photo. I dislike the brightness of the car's headlights on the left of the photo because I think it causes distraction. I could improve my ability of how to focus in the dark because it was difficult to capture really sharp light trails since I couldn't pre-focus my camera on them. A problem that I faced when taking this photo was the blurriness of the light trails, even though I was using a tripod, because of the car's uneven movement. I overcame this by placing my camera in different locations and changing the focus of the lens.
This photo tells the story of how cats see more than we think and constantly focus on everything that is happening around them. I like the clarity of the two positions of the cat's head in the photo because it brings the story to life and makes the photo stand out from others. I dislike that the cat isn't completely in the photo because it creates a bit of empty space on the right. I could improve on how to center things in my photos to make them more visually pleasing or even just so that they create the right feeling. I faced a couple challenges with this photo because cats aren't as cooperative as I would like them to be, so capturing my cat's head the way that I did was difficult because for most photos she wouldn't stay still for enough time. I overcame this challenge by taking lots of photos and using different ways to get her attention in order to capture this photo.
In this photo, the story is about how people easily forget how fast the earth is actually spinning and that by spinning a globe, we can be reminded that we aren’t standing as still as we think. What I like about this photo is how clear the horizon band is and how the colors blend together because of the spinning of the globe. I dislike the bit of light on the globe that acts as a reflection because it takes away from some of the globe's colors. I can improve my choice correct lighting in order to get photograph's that are more balanced and avoid shadows. One of the problems that I faced when taking this photo was spinning the globe at just the right speed so the blur was portrayed correctly. I overcame this problem by spinning it at different speeds and adjusting my shutter speed.
The photo tells the story of the importance of respect and how vibrant and meaningful it is, especially through dark times. I like the sparkles of light at the end of each letter because it brings more feeling to the photo and enhances the entire word. I dislike the uneven spacing of the letters, though I believe it adds character to the photo. I can improve on working with light trails and learning more about how they appear in photographs. While taking this photo, a challenge that I faced was fitting the entire word in the frame and making sure none of the letters were cut off. I overcame this challenge by forming different sizes of the letters and writing the word at different heights in the photo.
