Needle Felting Animals which stand unaided is a very technical skill.  Armatures are used to form the skeleton and then base wool is wrapped around them and secured tightly.

Special needle felting needles with multiple barbs are used to entangle the wool fibres, compacting it and forming it into the carcass of the animal.
