Lux et Terra Branding, Packaging & Website Design

Lux et Terra are hand poured candles celebrating people, bees and nature. Made in small, thoughtful batches on Vancouver Island, they naturally scented with coconut, honey and the floral nectar of the comb. Husband and wife team Nick & Elena believe in creating safe, clean burning candles with sustainably grown and harvested ingredients. After struggling to find candles on the market that were made from anything other than soy and paraffin, they soon got to work and Lux et Terra was born.
We started with a clean, simple solution for the logo that told the story of beeswax candles effectively and beautifully. I knew right away the the packaging should be stripped down to reflect the pureness of the ingredients that make them superior to others on the market. Using gold foil as a nod to bees, Elena had the genius idea to use matchbooks as their 'business cards' which accompany all purchases. We designed an E-commerce site so that they could manage online orders in conjunction with stockists and local markets they attend.
