This project was on symmetry, we were to get some objects from nature and use them to create the four types symmetry: Reflection, Rotation, Translation, and glide reflection. With one of the following colors: cyan, magenta, yellow, and black or cmyk. the object I used was a half bloomed flower that fell off the main plant. For more on the process click here http://drp.mk/kfKP3zg02
Reflection is a symmetry operation that rotates the image 180 degrees as if it was reflected on a mirror. The flower was first placed in the top left corner and duplicated and reflected 3 times and then a yellow color overlay was placed.
Rotation is a symmetry operation that turns the object on a predetermined axis. In this case it was rotated 90 degrees with each duplicate of the flower and then a magenta color overlay was placed.
Translation is simply sliding the object or image from point to point. This was done 4 times and then a cyan color overlay was placed.
Glide reflection is another symmetry operation where the object is reflected or rotated 180 degrees just like normal reflection and is then translated. In this case this was only done once and then a black color overlay was then placed.
