Mind map for Whitney Houston Experimental Design project.

Mood Board showing the visual feeling I want to evoke and color palette. 

Typography mood board for Whitney Houston. I want to incorporate both a handwritten script and capitalized serif or sans serif font in addition to playing around with positive and negative space within the type and artwork.

Mark making done with watercolor and acrylics for possible use as Photoshop brushes.

First thumbnail I sketched for LP Cover Project, front only. I want to include Whitney Houston's face on the cover using collaging methods (possibly incorporating photos or renderings of others she has influenced depending on copyright laws, etc.) and Photoshop brushes.

Front and back of LP Jacket. Whitney Houston's face/hair will be split between the front and back of the jacket. Facial features will be rendered/collaged on the final. Hair and face will be backlit similar to my mood board imagery.

Playing around more with type choice/positioning. Still want to incorporate a bold sans serif with a handwritten font as that seems to be a theme throughout her discography. Horizontal lines on back are placeholders for featured songs.

Experimenting with having her name in the handwritten font vs. the bold sans serif. Would like her face to be in the foreground unlike the thumbnail above. 

Progress of portrait collage. I've included photos/album covers of female artists Whitney Houston has influenced i.e. Rihanna, Solange, Beyonce, Aaliyah, and Mariah Carey. May experiment more with zooming out of images I've included.

Album title will be "I'm Every Woman" and will be a collection of 12 songs that aren't as popular.

Progress of overall album cover which portrait collage will be included in. Experimenting with blocking of larger text than what I have in thumbnails (which will be in different color/font/backlit). 

Semi-final album cover for Whitney Houston titled "I'm Every Woman" featuring twelve of her lesser-known songs. Houston's image is a collage of iconic female artists she has influenced such as Mariah Carey, Beyonce, Rihanna, Aaliyah, and others as well as her mother Cissy Houston and her late daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown. Each artists' photo will be included on final Behance page. Original image collage was based off of will be included on final Behance page also.
