The name Typeji is combined with two parts–Type and ji. “Ji” is a homophonic translation of the Kanji/Chinese character 字, which means type. The name 太字 also functions the same. It's a combination of a homophonic translation of type (太) and a word actually means type (字). The choice of the translation is the key of this logotype. Using “ji” instead of “zi” and 太 instead of 泰 (or other characters) makes it possible to share a similar visual density and graphic elements between both language.
