The Darkest Hour
In early June 2117, an elite orbital bombardment squadron was sent by The Colonist, marked the great interplanetary civil war between Earth and Mars forces.
During the invasion, Earth has less advanced technology and military forces, compared to The Colonist, where they managed to discover rare resources for military build-up which provide unity among the ranks for greater strategy and combat advantage.
In the darkest hour, Earth's Defense Forces (EDF) generals agreed to not deploy the Mother Earth protocol to fight their own kind. The generals tend to choose diplomatic options with The Colonist, and this term doesn't please the elites.
Mother Earth protocol is humanity's last resort to launch hundreds of Plasma Bomb to the atmosphere as if casualties toll and strategic loss reached category one, which is Nearly Wiped Out stage.
The Colonist shall landed their first squadron in less than a month, and the elites are gathered and planning to sabotage the Earth military, and initiate the protocol. They insist and believe that the protocol won't provide any second strike possibility from the enemy.
In fact, we never know how the protocol works, since the last known test was 80 years ago, and the official document was missing.
One of the colonist general received a small message transmission from he spies, about the plan. Suddenly, every generals in-command agreed and decided to change the orbital bombardment mission to Vacuum Artillery strategy, which is to increase Earth's global temperature by shooting down rail guns.
