IBM Data Science Experience (DSX)
Product Inception, Design Strategy, Concept Development and Design
DSX (along with Microsoft Surface) is possibly the most significant, challenging and impactful project of David's career. Prior to his involvement, IBM's plan for Data Scientists was to add open-source Jupyter notebooks to their Bluemix developer platform. Unfortunately, Bluemix is targeted to developers, and so had no traction with Data Scientists (and little of what they needed to be successful.)

David and his team developed an entirely new approach for Data Scientists, converging their need for collaboration and learning from peers with the capabilities and access to data necessary for them to do their work. The result has been one of the most important new initiatives within IBM, as stated by our CEO and CFO- not to mention thousands of enthusiastic new users.
