adobe flash programming  / actionscript 3.0 / xml-driven
Despina is a very talented graphic designer and had a very specific idea of how her beautiful, "duality" concept design for her personal website should be brought to life. We worked together to create a unique UI environment that is simple and clean, yet powerful and easy to use. The website had to allow for easy updates, all the while keeping the dynamically generated information visually perfect every time.

Backstage, we decided to work with XML-driven content, an easily modifiable and scalable happy medium Despina was comfortable with. The content is parsed by project name and type to create a database through which the navigational system works. This allows the user to browse either horizontally (through an entire project) or vertically (through other projects of the same type), and also to filter the available projects by type for quicker reference.

On stage front, I worked on a smooth slider-style transition and a burn-in effect to showcase the beautiful full-screen photos. I also had to make sure the dynamically generated information adhered perfectly to the visual/style guidelines every time. Attention was paid even to minor details such as loaders, mouseovers and navigational element states. Finally, I worked on a 3d "flip" transformation between the black and white "states" of the website which emphasizes the designer's duality concept.

The website was implemented in Adobe Flash with ActionScript 3.0 and is XML-driven.
