FAIRGROUNDS REBRANDING MARK
Known primarily as the home of the Great Indiana State Fair, the Indiana State Fairgrounds sought a logo, symbol or branding mark which would be easily identifiable. Since it was constructed in the late 1930s, The Indiana Farmers Coliseum has been recognized as one of the grandest multi-use arena structures of its kind on any fairground in the country and has been host to thousands of events of all types ranging from livestock shows, athletic events, political rallies and the host of the only Indiana performance of the Beatles in 1964. With this great history, the iconic Indiana Farmers Coliseum, freshly renovated just two years prior and with over one million visitors annually, became the strategic focus of the new symbol of the time-honored Fairgrounds.
BRANDING SIGNAGE
One of the primary goals of the Fairgrounds is to showcase agriculture & youth in an educational, entertaining and safe environment. Put agriculture at the fingertips of children, students and the public.

2018 HOLIDAY SOCIAL MEDIA VIDEO
Near the holidays I offered the client a Holiday Social Media Post used thru thru early January.
MARKETING COLLATERAL
Proposal presentation collateral format to aid in presenting the facilities of
the fairgrounds to organizers of potential events.
SWEAT HAPPENS (2019)
These fun and farmy bandana designs celebrating work, agriculture, corn and the rodeo, were created and offered as merchandise items or as a sponsorship/fundraising item, 21 inch bandanas with floating 18 inch art. This would be a $5-$8 (cost) item that would carry the brand’s message for years. Farmers wear them, cyclists, women, teens, children, Willie and even Elon wear them, etc. These were self-directed and not produced but were well received nonetheless, the client liked the ideas, craft and spirit.
GRANDSTAND SIGNAGE
In 2017 the Fair’s concessionaire group wanted a way to brighten the area under the grandstand where their booths were located. The Fair also was installing the Skyride the following year and they wanted a way to dress-up the south-facing exterior of the grandstand to fairgoers and also so patrons of the Skyride would see something other than the metal grandstand structure 35 feet above the tarmac when they rode that attraction. We provided concepts, renderings and printing/installation quotes for these projects. The Fairgrounds produced these on an a-la-carte basis.
WAYFINDING TUNNEL SIGNAGE
These environmental graphics were designed to brighten dark, grey tunnels under the grandstand track by showcasing a few of Indiana’s agricultural facts to visitors. These tunnel graphics were hand-painted by volunteers.

GIFT CARD
An unsolicited general concept for a Fair-Branded Closed-Loop Gift Card created a few months before the pandemic which could reduce some of the fear of handling currency and also generate revenue before the sale of tickets, food and other fair items. But more importantly a marketing tool to widen customer base, increase customer engagement and make gift-giving simpler for the giver as well as making marketing easier for the Fair, eliminating rushed early-bird ticket packages.
