The Project Magazine course that I had in Sundsvall, Sweden was the most challenging one so far. It lasted two months and as a task, we had to create a whole magazine by ourselves. Together with 9 other international students I created a magazine for a particular demographic, in this case the international students. Each of us had specific tasks (each member of the team had to contribute with 1 feature story, 2 shorter pieces and 2 graphical/photographical elements). Therefore, beside the articles, I also designed layouts for 21 pages and also made some illustrations. Being a magazine for students, we wanted to make the pages colourful enhancing a clean, youthful, friendly and informative layout. We used bright colours, funny fonts (Raleway, Bromello, Peas and Carrots, Museo, Palatino) and big pictures. Also keeping enough white space and maintaining a specific grid for the layout through the magazine. Most of the articles start with a picture that takes up the entire page. Beside pictures, we created some illustrations too, keeping the youthful and friendly feel of the magazine.
