Lion Head Ring
I was requested to make this ring by my brother. He probably got the idea watching Game Of Thrones, but it was a nice project nontheless. His ring is made of silver, and I also made a bronze copy to keep for myself, so I would be able to show it in my portfolio.

The ring is a wax casting, I used fifferent types of wax. The lions face is made using regular beeswax, I like using beeswax a lot for its scoulpting properties. The band is made using blue jewellers wax.

You can see my process from the very start.
Here you can see me holding the rings just after they have been cast. In this stage they are far from done. There is still a lot of filing, and the whole emery process to be done. Only then can the rings be polished.
As a final step I gave both rings an aged antique look, to underline the contrast and give a more scoulpturesque look. In order to do that a sulfurous chemical has to be applied, witch reacts with the copper in the silver and bronze alloy, and turs it a blueish black, after that you can make a final light polish, where the polishing wheel only touches the highspots and leaves a nice black contour in the lowlieing corners.
Thanks for watching, let me know what you think in the comments!
