JaVar Myatt-Jones: NFL Athletes Possess Extraordinary Capabilities

JaVar Myatt-Jones has a handful of interests outside of his career as a family medicine physician. NFL football is one of these interests, and there are certainly many intriguing aspects to the game. One of them is the sheer physical ability of the players. Many of the skill players, like the wide receivers and running backs, are among the fastest individuals on the planet. 

You could also include cornerbacks when you are talking about the speediest players, and many of them were former track athletes. The game is played at a very fast pace, and this is something that is difficult to understand if you have never actively participated in the sport at a high level.

Speaking of the pace of the game, the quarterback position requires a different type of speed. Yes, there are quarterbacks who can run, but from a mental perspective, they have to process information almost immediately under intense duress. 

This is a dynamic that a physician like JaVar Myatt-Jones would be very familiar with in a different context. Plus, the linemen are extraordinarily agile for human beings that are typically going to tip the scales at over 300 pounds. Linebackers may be the most impressive physical specimens of all, because they must possess a combination of extraordinary strength, size and speed.

During his college years, he had the opportunity to go to NFL games in person in three different unique cities. 

JaVar Myatt-Jones could see the Falcons when he went to Morehouse College in Atlanta, and when he went to medical school in Detroit, so he could attend Lions games. His residency was in Chicago, so the Soldier Field experience was within easy reach. Now that he lives in Alabama, JaVar Myatt-Jones may not have an NFL team in his town, but he can tap into the passion that people in the state have for college football.
