THE OUTSIDE IS ACCENTUATED WAY TOO MASCULINE –
AN ENCOUNTER

this project was my thesis ( diplom ) and had it’s initiation because of an encounter i had with my grandfather shortly before he died:
i had never asked him about his experiences in world war 2 and the battle of stalingrad. concretely i questioned him about the possibility of modern media to give me a sense of the horror i guessed he must had gone through.

what happened was a moment of not-saying, but deeply communicating.
this was the birth of my project:
there was something i can not discribe with words, but what i am pursuing to express with my artistic abilities.
i wanted to create pictures, which can not be created – but must be created, because we as a society have the responsibility of remembering.such an evil must not ever happen again.
the whole project was planned to consist of 3 episodes – 2 of them fictional and one ( the thesis ) autobiographical.
