Our task was to develop a visual information system in the Centre of New Technologies, one of the buildings of the University of Warsaw. The system was suppose to help users move around the building in all- and limited-access zones (for ex. laboratories and other research facilities).
Scope of Work:
Inventory, analysis, consultancy in information architecture and naming, graphic design of pictograms, plans, signage & wayfinding media, and stationery (ex. identifiers, room id).
We changed the verbal and visual communication (naming of spaces and information architecture) and designed the internal signs. To facilitate communication and movement around the building, we chose a modern narrow and easy-to-read typeface with a corresponding set of pictograms. We matched the technology of signs to correspond with the interior design and answer the need of updating the content. We also prepared the guidelines (manual) for the design and production of further information media.
