Top 5 of the most popular car tyre brands

Here are the Top 5 of the most popular car tyre brands

Bridgestone - Definitely one of the top manufacturers. The company also includes the brand name Firestone and other less well-known tyre brands. Despite high prices, Bridgestone tyres are in high demand, as they achieve the best performance on dry roads and are available from many local dealers or online.

Even on wet roads, the tyres show a good performance. Particularly in motorsports, they regularly demonstrate their performance impressively.

Michelin - One of the most important competitors of Bridgestone is Michelin. Both companies are among the world's leading tyre manufacturers. Michelin tyres are also located in the upper price segment and are available in almost every country. The tyre manufacturer's tyres are known for their outstanding handling characteristics on dry roads and excellent handling.

Especially the Michelin Pilot sports tyre achieved very good test results and convinced on dry and wet roads alike.

In motorsport they are also used due to their performance and efficiency. Brands such as BF Goodrich and other trade brands (Riken) belong to the Michelin Group.

Goodyear - Goodyear also plays in the same league as Bridgestone and Michelin. As one of the "big players" of tyre manufacturers worldwide, Goodyear offers tyres which generally mark the upper limit of the offer.
The tyres offer balanced properties on dry and wet roads, making them ideal for the average user.

The test results are usually similar. On the other hand, the tyres offer excellent performance on dry road and low wear. The driving characteristics in the rain were sometimes criticised in the past. Other well-known brands like Dunlop or the cheaper Fulda brand belong to Goodyear.

Which tyre brands are the best?

Continental - The German tyre company Continental has an exceptionally good reputation throughout Europe. Other major brands such as Uniroyal, Viking and Barum belong to the group. Like the other manufacturers in the top five of the largest tyre brands, Continental tyres are located in the upper price segment - albeit usually more favourably than the direct competitors.

Continental tyres are known for their super dry adhesion- and wet grip. It is, therefore, a mystery that they are usually not mentioned at the same level as Goodyear, Michelin or Bridgestone. The combination of adhesion, excellent handling and low wear makes the Continental Contiforce Contact tyre better in tests than, for example, the Michelin Sports Cup tyre, which is also more expensive.

Pirelli - The tyre manufacturer from Italy also offers a wide range of tyre types. Known as one of the top 3 leading European tyre manufacturers, Pirelli competes with both Continental and Michelin. Also, there are hardly any differences in price.
Nevertheless, tyres of Pirelli are very popular. The product range offers the right tyre for many different requirements. Pirelli also includes the tyre brands Courier and Ceat.
