This photo's story is about fun, happiness, and feeling free. What I like about this photo are the colors of the bubble and the way they blend together to create a smooth and delicate image. I dislike that the bubble is off-center and how the top of it slightly merges with the edge of the photo. I need to improve how subjects are positioned in photos by practicing with objects of different sizes and shapes. Taking clear photos of the bubbles was my biggest challenge because of their constant movement and change in distance from the camera. I overcame this challenge by taking lots of photos and recognizing common movements of the bubbles with the wind.
This photo tells the story of a butterfly peacefully flying through the air on a warm summer day. My favorite parts of this photo are the butterfly's location between the trees and how the sunlight shines through its wings. I don't dislike anything about this photo because I put great effort into it and I am very proud of the shot. I faced a few challenges while trying to capture the butterfly in flight because of its fast movements and changes in direction, as well as finding an empty background so the butterfly was completely visible. I overcame these challenges by patiently watching the butterflies and precisely timing the photos I took with where the butterfly was flying.
This photo tells the story of a photographer's readiness to shoot a subject at any given moment. I like the lighting on the lens cap and how it illuminates "Canon" because it draws attention to it. I dislike the darkness on the right because it creates uneven lighting within the photo. I need to improve the lighting that a photo has by testing different light sources and finding how they work with my subjects. The main problem I encountered when taking this photo was getting the perfect lighting on the lens cap in order to read "Canon", and it took many tries. I overcame this by re-positioning the light pointed on the lens cap and also changing how I tossed it into the air.
The story that this photo tells is about the last green leaf of a tree floating to the ground as autumn nears and the seasons shift. I like the shape of the leaf in this photo because it portrays the story I tried to create and truly makes it seem as if it were floating. I dislike the space on the left of the photo because it doesn't fit with the shadows of the tree on the right. I need to improve the balance between a subject and the space surrounding it in my photos to create better visual appeal. The problem I faced when taking this photo was the form of the leaf as it fell to the ground because I really wanted to capture the gentle feeling of a falling leaf. I overcame this by dropping the leaf from different heights and positions to change the form of it.
The story I tried to tell with this photo is about the illusion of defying gravity and its fascinating nature. What I like about this photo is how the rock is pointed down at the water and the symmetrical reflection that it creates. I dislike the blurriness of the water further into the photo because it takes away from the reflection of the trees. I can improve the clarity of my photos by experimenting and practicing the use of depth of field. The main challenge I encountered when taking this photo was timing the rock directly above the water. I overcame this challenge by putting my camera in a specific position and dropping the rock in the same place over the water multiple times.
