The habitat (Latin word which means "it lives") is the place whose physical and abiotic characteristics may allow a species to live, grow, reproduce, guaranteeing the quality of life, which can increase or decrease based on climatic or demographic changes. It is essentially the environment that can surround a population of a species.
This project deals with a survey of the true inhabitants of the sea, which I want to see and discover. In turkish “jellyfish” means "sea mother". These animals possess this place and at the same time conform themselves to its characteristics, adapting to their habitat. Jellyfish are presented as a minimal but powerful concept, fluorescent figures in deep and dark setting, unreachable and therefore unknown for us, that here it is represented visually as something else: infinite space.
L'habitat (termine latino che significa “egli abita”) è il luogo le cui caratteristiche fisiche e abiotiche possono permettere ad una data specie di vivere, svilupparsi, riprodursi, garantendo la qualità della vita, la quale può diminuire o aumentare in base ai cambiamenti climatici o demografici. È essenzialmente l’ambiente che circonda una popolazione di una specie.
Questo progetto indaga i veri abitanti del mare, che ho voluto osservare e scoprire. In turco “medusa” significa “madre del mare”; esse infatti possiedono questo luogo ma nello stesso tempo si uniformano ad esso, adattandosi al loro habitat. Le meduse sono presentate come un concetto minimale ma potente, figure fluorescenti in un’ambientazione scura e profonda, per noi irraggiungibile e quindi sconosciuta che qui si presenta visivamente come qualcos’altro: lo spazio infinito.
