Abrar H. - Technological Designs - Week 5 - Midterm Project
On October the 6th, we were given our midterm assignments which will be 15 percent of our final mark. Our assignment is to create a pen holder for the 30 new WACOM tablet pens that came in the week before that belongs to the art teacher of our school, Ms Skiba.

To begin making designs for Skiba, I created 5 of my own designs first to see if she has any interests in something I had in mind. In the end after making these ideas, she told me that honestly they were not her kind of designs. After that I asked her if there was something she was interested in having as a pen holder. So she responded saying that she wanted something like a hedgehog holder with the pens sticking out all over the pen holder.
So I created this, which we both agreed did not look too great. Soon after looking at this for a while, she told me that I had a knack for designing and then she told me to look up something called a Fabrage Egg, which is basically an egg with a lot of elaborate designs on top its surface.
So I created one, detailed it and showed her. She loved it, she loved the design and the depth of shading. Now that I knew what she wanted, I needed to elaborate on it and create it in a way that she could use it as a pen holder. To be honest, I thought about this a lot and I could not come up with a way that would keep this design and create a good, well working pen holder. That is when I teamed up with my classmates, Megan and Supreet, to elaborate on the idea and create different designs using the same idea. Finally, we came up with the idea of the top half of the egg being detachable and the inside of the egg will be hollowed so that she can put her pens inside of it. We ran the idea by Skiba and she really liked it so we decided that would be what we will do.
So here is a the page I was jotting all my ideas, measurements and thoughts on. It will most probably expand because this project is still a work in progress and I still have to confirm what I am making before I get started.
