This week of communications technology was short because of the long weekend. This week basically consisted of us working on the junior boy's volleyball tournament poster. Furthermore, this poster was to describe the excitement or the highlights of the junior boy's volleyball tournament. I decided to start my poster off with big, bold, and crisp font so that it stands out the most and catches the viewers attention. I also added a border in the colour of blue which is on the Phoenix logo because I didn't want the sides to look plain. Next, I added basic information, such as, who is playing, and how many teams there were, and most importantly, I added a little description of what the volleyball game was like so that it draws attention. To add on to this, I picked the picture of the boys huddling together because it shows teamwork and effort, I picked the boys jumping up to hit the ball because it shows eagerness and confidence to win, and lastly, I picked the boys sitting in a line because it shows how engaged they are in the game. To add on to this, I have learned many things from this assignment, such as not to use pictures of boys just playing volleyball in a random order as it looks confusing and I also learned how to use a camera in more depth. Moreover, I learned about typography and what fonts, sizes, colours to use to match the poster.
The next thing we did this week was to get feedback on our volleyball posters from the class and our teacher so that we can improve and then hand it in once improved. While getting feedback our posters, our teacher taught us a few techniques in photoshop as well. For example, we learned how to put multiple images on one square so it doesn't look busy around the poster. We also learned how to make sure pictures which are identical are the same size by using the ruler tool and the last thing I learned is how to add an outline or shadow around text. Furthermore, I added an outline around my text and shadows around it as well because it helps the text to stand and pop out more. On Friday of this week, I was not in class because I attended the Residential School field trip.
