parking area AZ Sint-Lucas, Ghent
8th floor, carless floor
Top floor of an eight story parking space.
You could think: georgeous view, silence, wind,...
But with most cars parking as low as possible, and doctors parking on the fifth, no one is really getting there.
Concrete, paint, signs, colours, lights,... is everything you have up there.
And a view.
No cars, no license plates, no human activity or anything that's Ghent (or even Belgium) related.
But a view.
A view that rises only over the thick concrete edge.
Remove everything above the concrete edge, and you could be anywhere;
Get your perspective below the concrete edge, and you could be anywhere;
Increase the concrete edge, and you could be anywhere.

You could just as much be stuck in a three square meter basement room with no windows.
Cranes, trees, clouds, rise just above the wall.
The noise of some scooters and sirens.
This is St Petersburg, right...?
Alienation
