Mini Project - An animated pumpkin short.

Mini-Project: An animated short featuring a Halloween pumpkin running for his life.

This project involved four student animators from St.Joseph's College of Arts & Science, Bangalore, India.
This is one of the sequences I animated.

An angle that was edited out.
The other sequence that I animated, including the shatter effect achieved in Maya using nCloth and collisions.
The Completed Pumpkin rig, including joints connecting the hands and legs to the body:
IK/FK Hands, FK Legs,
IK/FK switch and blend for hands, Pole vectors for elbows and knees,
Custom rotation for freely rotating the pumpkin separate from the rest of the body,
Squash/Stretch Deformer linked to the orientation of the root control,
Individual Finger Curl & Spread attributes by driven keys,
And arm length & leg length driven by bone scale constraints with driven keys on the hand & leg controls.

Facial blend-shapes were created by a team-mate.
The completed pumpkin rig including hat mesh and FK controls.
Hat was modeled by a team-mate.
I modeled the pumpkin and its parts, and rigged it with its hat.
This is the final edited render.

I modeled and rigged the main character.
I also modeled the dungeon set, but not its component props.
Modeling was done in Blender.
Rigging and Animating were done in Maya.

I Animated two of the sequences, the other animations, including cinematography, and editing were done by my three team-mates.

I worked on Scene set up, Lighting and Rendering for all sequences.
Scene set up involved importing animations via alembic from Maya to Blender, and setting up custom toon shaders, lamps, textures, and Freestyle renderer (for outlines).

Rendered at 24 FPS using Blender Internal renderer.and Freestyle.
