The challenge in designing this home was on how to best incorporate two different design elements, the colonial architecture with the oriental design.
Unlike the usual apporoach in designing a Cina Peranakan concept, Raul started the design by first exploring the European style homes, followed by the traditional Chinese designs.
Through this approach, the spirit of this home exterior is better captured, rather than copying the design from various peranakan style homes that are available in various cities in Indonesia and the neighboring countries.
