EREBO
Tensegrity structures

The project is a disorienting way that recreates the creation of the cosmos from Chaos, as stated in Greek mythology, and then focus on Erebo’s story.
The installation, located within the naves of the Hangar Bicocca in Milan, has a raised entrance compared to the ground level, from which can be seen the different tensile structures present in the space; the first is anchored to the ceiling by steel hooks and tierods, while the lower is a tensegrity structure recalling an “offset cube” made of a black fabric and metallic inner hooks, both arranged modularly.
The first structure presents the first five elements directly created by Chaos at its division (Gea, Eros, Tartaro, Erebo and Night), while the second structures serve as a background for the projections of the sons of Erebo (Emera, Ether, Ipno, Caronte and the Three Parcae).
The user will then follow a first irreversible itinerary to get to the center of the installation, where he will take a free walk but orientated by a neon light wire, which represents the thread of life that was cut off by the Parcae to sentence the death of men.
